Mary Jeans

Rising Pop-R&B Singer Songwriter Mary Jeans is a promising new artist born and raised in Montreal, Canada. Self-taught, the multidisciplinary artist also has a passion for dancing and acting. Over the course of multiple shows and contests during her teenage years, she found herself continuously writing songs by the age of 15, and developed a strong interest in becoming a singer-songwriter. In 2018, she had my first experience in the studio recording with Solomon Krause and I tracked my first demos. With a small, but solid, catalog in her arsenal, she started performing in local clubs. She can win over any crowd with her electric performances and charming banter between songs. Having consistently released music over the past few years, she found opportunities playing for some of Montreal’s most impressive festivals such as the Fashion and Design Festival, McGill’s Open Air Pub and even Pop Montreal. Mary Jeans’s music is distinguished by an alternative blend of funk, rock and electro-pop. Her unique universe consists of themes such as adulthood and the uncertain future of a young woman who is still discovering herself. The subjects she touch upon are universal, and could relate to demographics across different age groups. Her main inspirations are Gwen Stefani, Thundercat, Charlotte Cardin, Dua Lipa and Biig Piig and her catalog has evolved quite a bit between 2020 and 2023, spanning a total of nine singles. ‘Special’ and ‘Talk’ have accrued over 60' 000 streams on Spotify, appearing in quite a few editorial playlists such as Montreal Chill, Outliers and New Music Friday. In preparation for her upcoming EP in 2024, Mary Jeans is experimenting in order to reach a larger, more diverse audience.
